PzH 2000

New programme
The Royal Netherlands Army is replacing all their operational and technical old M114 and M109 self propelled howitzers. As replacement they have purchased the PanzerHaubitze (PzH) 2000.

Tasks
Within a combat situation the aim of the PzH 2000 is to fight those targets that are outside the reach of fighting units like main battle tanks. Next to that, they are able to support possible combat actions during peace enforcing and defence operations.

Stork Special Products and PzH 2000
In this programme for the Netherlands, Stork Special Products is responsible for the delivery of the powerpack to Rheinmetall Landsysteme, the company responsible for the chassis of the howitzer.

To increase the operational availability of the PzH 2000 in warm to hot area’s, initiated by the BWB (Germany), an extensive modification programme was started, incorporating a cooling unit for the storage room of the propellant. The design and production of this cooling unit was done by Stork Special Products.
