As a result of her excellent knowledge of engines and transmissions Stork Special Products has entered the market for transport equipment on rail. Diesel-electric locomotives are part of the substantial amount of transport locomotives in the Netherlands, responsible for transporting heavy goods from industrial area’s to other (foreign) industrial area’s. Chemicals, coal, iron and containers are just a few of the goods being transported. Next to that diesel and diesel-electric passenger trains are used on several commuter lines in the Netherlands. |
Activities
In this market Stork Special Products is responsible for maintenance, repair and overhaul, technical support, spare parts supply and field service of the MTU 396 diesel generator set, being the main power unit for the DE 64/6500 type diesel locomotives.
