DE 64/6500 series locomotives

As part of market focussing and diversification Stork Special Products started to talk to NS Cargo in 1998 about the maintenance of the MTU 396 V12 engines in their locomotives. NS Cargo was privatised and sold to Railion. Since 1999 Stork Special Products has proven its capabilities towards Railion and works together with the locomotive maintenance companies Shunter and Nedtrain.

In total 120 DE 64/6500 series locomotives are equipped with the MTU 396 V12 diesel engine.
