Boxer
As part of the complete programme “Replacement Armoured Vehicles YPR and M577” in 2002 the development started of a multi role armoured vehicle (MRAV), the Boxer. The Boxer is being developed in a bilateral program between Germany and the Netherlands by the ARTEC consortium, a consortium of two German companies (Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall Landsysteme) and the Dutch company Stork PWV.

The Boxer is designated to perform supporting tasks during peacetime and wartime operations. The Netherlands Army has requested a variety of five different vehicles; the command post, a battlefield damage repair vehicle, an ambulance, a cargo vehicle and a pioneer vehicle. Unique of the Boxer vehicle is its high grade of protection against mines and rocket propelled grenades. As armoured vehicle, the Boxer is the best protected vehicle in its range. |

As a partner, Stork Special Products is responsible for the assembly of the powerpack of the vehicle, consisting of a MTU engine, angular gear, transmission, cooling block and in total over 1200 minor parts. Next to that an Environmental Control System is developed. This air-conditioning system with an integrated NBC system will protect the crew under extreme ambient conditions and external attacks with war agents.
