Environmental Control Systems
ECS
A typical additional requirement in military shelter and vehicle programmes is the separation of the indoor climate from the outdoor climate for comfort (air-conditioning) and to protect the crew from the threat of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN system) attacks on the battlefield or from industrial incidents. This is the Environmental Control System (ECS) of the armoured vehicle or shelter. It provides the crew the possibility to continue their mission under all extreme outside conditions.
